Saturday Bonus: Style Icons: the Beatles’ Women During Beatlemania, Early to Mid 1960’s

By Randi Reed

In honor of this past week's 50th anniversary of The Beatles coming over to America, Cosme-Haul presents the iconic style of their wives and girlfriends.

When Beatlemania hit, their female fans wanted to know everything Beatles--including who they were dating. Despite manager Brian Epstein's efforts to make the lads from Liverpool seem unattached and available, the fans devoured every bit of information they could get hold of about The Beatles' girlfriends and wives. After poring over photos of Jane Asher, Cynthia Lennon, Pattie Boyd, and Maureen Cox,  it wasn't long before female fans began dressing and doing their makeup and hair like them, too.

Die-hard fans will notice there’s no Linda Eastman McCartney or Yoko Ono here. That’s not to slight these ladies in any way; they’re style icons in their own right. They're not included here simply because this entry focuses on the first days of Beatlemania, so they weren’t on the scene just yet.  At that time, Paul was dating Jane Asher, and John was married to Cynthia Lennon (nee Powell).

Have a wonderful weekend!
